about us

Electronic Cemetery E-Waste Management is an initiative put together to aid in the removal of all your unwanted or broken electronics and a safe compliant solution to your end of life assets (ITAD).

We have been working on our craft for over a decade servicing some of the biggest government and corporate giants this country has to offer. We collect all your unwanted or broken electronic waste and end of life assets, refurbish what we are able to and make frequent donations to the individuals in need, less fortunate schools or societies or a charity of your choice, with quality refurbished IT equipment. We then sell the rest to those individuals who are unable to afford brand new items at below current market prices with a warranty.  The rest of the e-Waste that is obsolete or not economically viable to repair, we manually disassemble and recycle accordingly. We dispose the non-recyclable fractions in an environmentally sound manner and have made great progress towards realizing our dream of zero waste.  In doing so we are creating jobs, helping the environment, helping those less privileged giving people access to technology and appliances and reducing the gap between the haves and the have not’s.  Upon collection once processed we issue a certificate of safe disposal via email. With prior request all serial numbers or asset verification can be cataloged on a spreadsheet if need be, for auditors. In line with POPI regulations we treat data security very seriously.  All hard drives are either wiped clean or physically damaged. We are EWASA certified with a scheduled trade permit for the scope of operations and registered on the SAWIC registry.

As our environment swiftly moves towards degradation and unnatural ruin, our contribution is therefore never ending.  We as citizens of this Earth need to become aware of our own impact, whether small or big; it’s time to make a change.   A change can be made with little to no effort at all and in doing so we preserve our environment for the future generations.  United Nations identifies e-Waste as an urgent and growing problem. The UN Environmental Programme has issued a wide-ranging report warning that e-Waste in China and South Africa could double or even quadruple within the next decade, whereas India could experience a five-fold rise.  Major hazards exist in the unregulated and informal recycling of circuit boards and techno gadgets, as processes like backyard incineration, for the retrieval of gold, generates toxic gases, while also being widely inefficient.  The whole point of the report is to encourage some global cooperation in setting up modern and safe recycling facilities in the affected countries and to remodel the solution.  It is therefore imperative that we tackle such problems in the correct way, with the correct resources.

Vision:
We live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with lush nature and never ending mountaintops.  Our vision is to sustain such beauty, by implementing ways in which it can be done, through effort-less procedures. South Africa houses one of the biggest poverty percentages in the world, and our aim is also to provide as many people with access to technology thereby creating equality in increments.
